Dr. Eric Mondschein is a native Floridian who grew up on Miami Beach and attended the University of Florida where he met his beautiful wife, Wendy. He studied Animal Sciences as well as Wildlife Ecology and Conservation, earning two Bachelor of Science degrees. In 2007 Dr. Mondschein completed a dual degree program at Tufts University, earning both his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and Master of Public Health Degrees. He then completed a one year intensive internship at Florida Veterinary Specialist (Blue Pearl) in Tampa, Florida.
Embarking on his next chapter in life, Dr. Mondschein moved to New York City where he practiced both emergency and general medicine. While there, he gained an interest in integrative medicine, combining the best of Western and Eastern modalities. In 2011, he became certified as a veterinary acupuncturist at the Chi Institute. After spending a year abroad in Austria, he returned home to Florida in 2013 and continued working in general practice in the Tampa Bay area. In 2016, he completed his certification in canine rehabilitation and physical therapy.
Dr. Mondschein lives with his wife, Wendy, and their two dogs Henry and Juneau. His main veterinary interests include emergency medicine, geriatric wellness, and alternative and integrative therapies, including Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, canine rehabilitation, and physical therapy. His hobbies include traveling the world, spending time with his wife, running, kayaking, and Gator football!
